Automotive Services Councils of California past presidents Dennis Montalbano and Allen Pennebaker, along with ASCCA legislative advocate Jack Molodanof, testified in favor of SB 994 (Monning) at the Senate Transportation & Housing Committee on April 22. Although the bill did not pass out of the committee, ASCCA will continue to monitor legislation that attempts to improve consumer choice.

April Member of the Month: Glenn Davis

Glenn Davis with Chapter 14 (Inland Empire) is the ASCCA's April Member of the Month! Glenn owns GDA Enterprises of Upland, CA, and is chairman of the ASCEF. Glenn had this to say about being chosen as an ASCCA Member of the Month:

Thank you all for your kind words,

I never imagined the path I would take when I first attended an ASCCA meeting in Chapter 5 back when I was a 22-year old shop owner. The evening is still etched in my memory as if it happened last night. Through the years (into my 30th year now as an ASCCA member), I have met and been mentored by the real icons of our industry. I learned the fine art of leadership from the likes of Larry Moore, Tom Ward, Chet Stilbower, Ron Dyrness,Jim O'Neill, Allen Cherko, Dan Fogle, Mike Mahneke and Robert Salerno. I hope one day I too will be able pass those things on to the next generation of ASCCA shop owners and leaders.

Google+ Views

A new metric has been introduced to Google+ called "views," and it indicates how many eyes have seen your G+ profile. We're still in the very early stages, but it's clear that Google is looking to show users how beneficial their listing really is. If 200,000 people have viewed your hollowed-out business page, it might be worth it to spruce things up a bit, no? With Google Local Listings becoming intimately tied to G+ pages, a shined-up and populated profile is becoming more important.
