ASCCA Part of Task Force to Assure Compliance with New  Brake Pad Law in California

The ASCCA was one of the members of an automotive aftermarket task force, comprised of national and state automotive associations, that helped create a new website with information on the Copper Free Brake Pad regulations. The website, www.copperfreebrakes.org, is now live and contains information and links to help service providers know what to expect regarding the sale and installation of brake pads in California.

In 2010, California passed a law requiring that brake pads sold or installed in the state have reduced levels of copper and other heavy metals. The new brake rules place significant compliance requirements on brake pad installers, among others. California is providing content for the website and the ASCCA encourages visitors to use the information to ensure their compliance with the legislation.

ASCCA Members May Be Able to Shield Themselves from Looming Insurance Rate Hikes

California's State Compensation Insurance Fund is planning to increase its overall rates by 6.5% this month. State Funds will be following this up by raising it rates again in March, and also plans to make changes to its group plans.

Fortunately, ASCCA members can receive deep discounts on their workers comp premiums through our insurance partner, Armstrong & Associates. Contact Glen Dailey today at 800.632.2777 or 916.286.0925, or by email to learn how Armstrong can save you money.
