JUNIOR PITCHES SHUTOUT INNINGS AT WORLD CUP IN KOREA
Congrats to Sara T. '18, who pitched five shutout innings to help lead the U.S. National Women's Baseball Team to a decisive victory (34-0) over Pakistan in the 2016 WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup!

As the youngest player and only New Yorker on the team, Sara struck out the first 2 batters she faced with just 6 pitches and allowed just 2 hits in 5 innings.  The team finished the competition, which was held in Korea, with a 4-0 record in the consolation round and a 6-1 record overall. SENIOR SPEAKERS KICKS OFF FOR 2016-17
At Berkeley Carroll, public speaking is considered a core competency, essential for global citizenship. The curriculum for every grade level, starting in PreK, helps students develop their proficiency and comfort in this skill. Our Senior Speakers Program is a true rite of passage for students, requiring every 12th grader to deliver a speech to the entire Upper School, with assemblies held once a week for this purpose.

This week's speakers were (above, left to right) Dean R., Sarah B. and Grace M. Dean talked about how in order to truly uphold the BC mission statement we must challenge and learn to disagree with one another, while still supporting others' ideas. Sarah explained how she is slowly uncovering the truth about herself and shared five things that make her feel confident, including the ability to embrace awkward and embarrassing moments and her family. Grace shared two stories of nearly disastrous travels with her family. Though they were stressful at the time, they are now classic, cherished memories.  Read more.
