5TH GRADE CELEBRATES DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
In celebration of Day of the Dead (Dķa de los Muertos), fifth graders created an altar and calaveras (skulls) honoring someone special to them who has passed away. Family and friends helped students celebrate at the exhibit's opening Monday after school. Day of the Dead bread from Panaderķa Don Paco Lopez in Sunset Park, which the Spanish Explorations elective picked it out on a field trip last week, was served along with Mexican lemonade. Plus, the Middle School Jazz Band played in the Lincoln Place lobby. More photos.
