WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE LOWER SCHOOL?

Director Amanda Pike says "During their years here, we expect students will become critical readers, fantastic writers, excellent mathematicians, logical thinkers, scientists, artists, dancers, musicians... We want students to leave our Lower School with a sense that all is possible when they work together and they work creatively. Our hope is children will learn joyfully in a place where they belong."

5th and 6th graders uncover their inner engineers during Ms. Harrington's Strategic Design elective!

UPPER SCHOOL JAZZ BAND ROCKS DINNER FOR MAJOR DONORS
Members of the Upper School Jazz Band performed at the Major Donor Dinner! The evening also featured wonderful speeches from Michelle M. '16 and Jake S. '16.

8TH GRADE HUMANITIES CONDUCTS "BOOK TASTING"
Ms. O'Brien's 8th grade humanities class participated in a "book tasting" in the Lincoln Place library to kick off their independent reading earlier this week!
The students, seated at four different tables, sampled a rotation of books in rounds of a few minutes each before jotting down their initial thoughts on what they just read. More photos.

2ND GRADE DEMONSTRATES BLOCK BUILDING SKILLS
Enthusiastic builders in 2B show off their latest creation! Their head teacher, Helen Birney, wrote her graduate thesis on block building and her students clearly make the most of their time with the blocks.

6TH GRADE INK DRAWINGS APPEAR BEFORE YOUR EYES (VIDEOS)

UPPER SCHOOL FALL PLAY HAS BEEN CAST  
Upper School students did a read through of the fall play, "An Evening with Hitchcock & Poe" earlier this week! 20 students in grades 9-12 have been cast in the production, which will be performed Nov. 5-7. Tickets will go on sale in October.
