CMMC is delighted that Princess Elettra Marconi will be our honored guest to celebrate the Marconi Station Centennial weekend events.  Our Grand Opening, with the Princess cutting the ribbon of the new Education Center will be held on Saturday June 21st at 10 am.

This will be followed by an open house of the Center/Museum on Saturday and Sunday, featuring our new exhibits as we

TO CHATHAM FROM ROME

The Princess Elettra, a friend to CMMC, visited Chatham in 2003 and 2006. Whenever the Princess is on the East Coast, she insists on visiting one of her father's favorite places, Cape Cod.

Maria Elettra Elena Anna Marconi was born in Italy seven years before the death of her father, Guglielmo Marconi on July 20, 1937. Her mother, Maria Cristina, dedicated her life to her husband's memory. Elettra and her mother have traveled the globe by invitation in order to commemorate and celebrate the genius of Marconi. Elettra acquired her title when she married Prince Giovanelli. She has one son born in 1967 named Guglielmo. Maria Cristina lived in Rome with her daughter until her death in 1994. In 1999, Elettra published a book that her mother wrote called
"Marconi My Beloved"
