Advance Registration for the Maine Chapter Fall Course Open Through September 9
The Maine Chapter's Fall Conference will be held September 24-25, 2016, at University of New England, Westbrook College Campus, in Portland. Click here to register online! This 2-day continuing education event will be on the topic of Management of Patients with Common Medical Pathologies: DVT, PAD, COPD, MI, CHF, and Diabetes and will feature speaker Steven H Tepper, PT, PhD. Free Webinar for APTA Members on New Codes
This 1.5-hour course on September 22 is designed to introduce physical therapists to the new evaluation and reevaluation codes, and teach therapists how to select the appropriate evaluation code based on patient presentation. The new evaluation codes are split into 3 levels: low complexity evaluation, moderate complexity evaluation, and high complexity evaluation. Physical therapists will need to select the appropriate evaluation level based on 4 components: patient history, examination, patient presentation, and complexity of clinical decision making. This course includes patient scenarios specific to a variety of physical therapist practice settings, including cardiovascular and pulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and private practice. Save the Date: APTA Maine Chapter Winter Symposium
The Maine Chapter will host a Winter Symposium on December 2, 2016, at the University of New England. Attendees may opt to attend a DPT Poster Symposium track or an educational track. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Matthew Somma, PT, DPT, CSCS, has been selected by the Maine Chapter as a 2016 recipient of the Emerging Leader Award. He is 1 of 26 members who were nominated by their component leadership to merit this honor and to be recognized in the October issue of PT in Motion Magazine. The Emerging Leader Award was established to annually honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession and APTA early in their careers. Congratulations, Matt!
