Hospital-Based SIG Update

Greetings, Hospital-Based Special Interest Group (HB SIG) members! We hope this message finds you well and settling into a peaceful and prosperous 2016. Your SIG leadership is gearing up for the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Anaheim, CA, February 17-20 (www.apta.org/csm).  
  
Conference Call Date Announcement: Whether or not you can attend CSM, please mark your calendars for our next conference call on Monday, April 19, at 8:00 pm Eastern (7:00 pm Central) for a discussion of important topics of interest to you as an acute care, rehabilitation, or outpatient therapist. More information to come!
  
In hopes that we will see many of you at CSM, we'd like to highlight some of the events and programming in Anaheim that might be of particular interest to you:
  
Hospital-Based SIG Meeting: Our annual meeting will be held Friday, February 19, from 6:30-7:30 am in the Hilton Anaheim, California Ballroom B. (Please check the onsite program for confirmation of the room.) Yes, 6:30 am is early, but you can do it!  Attendance at our meeting grows every year, and this is a great opportunity to network and become more involved with the SIG.
  
Programming of Interest: The Section on Pediatrics has sponsored and co-sponsored a wide range of cutting-edge programming that is too extensive to adequately summarize here. SOP programming relevant to ACUTE CARE therapists includes:
  • Pediatric oncology (3 sessions)
  • Burn rehabilitation
  • Upper extremity imaging
  • Pediatric pulmonology (cystic fibrosis)
