Make Your Own Mezuzah Case

Make your own fused glass mezuzah case in this art workshop for adults! All materials will be provided--you will start with a glass base and add colored pieces of glass to create your design. Your instructor Leslie Goldstein will fuse them in her kiln, then slump them to make space for the scroll and drill holes. Rabbi Seth will teach about the mezuzah. Snacks (wine and cheese) will be served! Limited to 12 participants, reserve your spot by contacting Leslie at [email protected] or (360) 791-9759. $18 to cover all materials.

Come join all of us to see the film and participate in the discussion.

Jews Who Bowl
Sunday, April 19
3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

  bowling_pins2.jpg

Join the Beit Sefer families as we bowl away hunger at Westside Lanes (2010 Harrison Ave NW). Bowling is $6 for one game or $10 for two and all funds raised go to support the Thurston County Food Bank.

Congregational FORKids Food Drive
April 12 - May 3

The Thurston County Food Bank provides individual-sized, easy to prepare, nutritious food to some 2,000 children who may not have enough food at home to get them through the weekend.  Please bring donations for this important program whenever you come to TBH during this Food Drive.  Individually packaged, non-perishable foods that need little or no preparation are needed. This includes things like: microwavable Mac 'n Cheese, noodle dishes, and soups; packaged fruit or applesauce (with no sugar added is best), single servings of oatmeal and the like.   You can leave your contributions in one of the blue Food Bank barrels (by the office or in the Sanctuary foyer).

Upcoming
Arts Walk Shabbat
Friday, April 24
7:54 p.m.
Sylvester Park, downtown Olympia

The last weekend in April is the City of Olympia ArtsWalk celebration, a downtown community event celebrating the arts. Rather than hold a regular service that Friday, we will gather in Sylvester Park at candlelighting time to light candles, sing songs, and mark Shabbat before returning to the ArtsWalk festivities.

Spring Mitzvah Morning
Sunday, April 26
10:15 a.m. to 12 noon
GRuB - 2016 Elliott Ave NW

Just like  the Sunday after Yom Kippur, but we're planting rather than harvesting.

MEET AT TBH, ready to carpool at 10 am or MEET at GRuB at 10:15.  Be prepared to work outside no matter the weather.  We will be helping GRuB with spring projects to ready the beds for planting.  It's great fun.  You get to be outdoors and work with your fellow TBH members. Take advantage of this chance to meet new people and visit while helping to strengthen the food safety net.

CROP Walk
Sunday, May 3
1:00 pm

CROP Walk is a 10k (6 mile) walk to raise money to fight hunger worldwide. Thurston County organizations receive 25% of the funds raised by this walk. Temple Beth Hatfiloh has a team of walkers in this event. You can join the team or just donate to support the team. Click here to sign up or donate.
