A New Program in Spring Creek, Brooklyn and
On-going Programs Hit their Stride

This fall, the Spring Creek Community Corporation in Brooklyn approached Arts to Grow about bringing an ongoing theater program to their elementary after school program. Now we are kicking off our 15th program partnership at the PS 346 site in Spring Creek, Brooklyn!

Programs are also continuing at  Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation/IS 171 and we are in the midst of planning spring programs at the Academy Street Firehouse in Newark and the Elysian Charter School in Hoboken.

New Board Members Contribute to Growth

Three new leaders joined our Board of Directors in the final months of 2012. A warm welcome to Clifford Dukes, Sheena White and Mickey Slevin who all share a common interest for improving the lives of children through volunteer leadership.

Clifford Dukes, joins as Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee and Team Leader for Youth I.N.C Celebration program, he began volunteering with ATG in late 2011. Sheena White, joins as Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee and Team Leader for Growing Innovative Youth Initiative, she began volunteering with ATG in June 2012 and Mickey Slevin, joins as Treasurer. Mickey began volunteering with ATG in June 2012.

After almost 8 years, Arts to Grow has demonstrated many positive outcomes for children from increased focus on core learning to better behavior. Shouldn't all children have these critical opportunities?

Now the goal is to make this happen for 5,000 kids every year by substantially growing ATG's capacity year by year over the next 5 years. Kicking off this growth phase is the Growing Innovative Youth initiative.

2013 marks our 2nd year as partners of the Youth I.N.C. Celebration Program. Our new Board member, Clifford Dukes will lead the Co-Chair team with a focus on engaging corporate involvement in our programs and sponsorships of $1,000 + . This investment of leadership and resources will make a significant impact in the community, providing hundreds of kids who lack access to excellence in education the opportunity             
to learn and grow creatively and developmentally towards a successful future.
