Smith Pond Visitor

Autumn in Montana has been fantastic!  The combination of fall color and ungulates in rut makes it my favorite season for research.

Our previous newsletter featured a burgeoning frog and goldfish population in our pond.  As a result, a mink seized the opportunity to feast.  They are accomplished swimmers and are known to pursue aquatic meals. This is a prime example of the ability of nature to maintain a balance.

We delight in all the lessons Mother Nature has taught us in our twenty years of living here.  She continues to enrich our lives and fuel my passion for my work.

Our best to you for a magical Holiday Season!

 Glacier Park Research Trip 2014

This fall I traveled to Glacier National Park with my wife, Ashton and my father for our annual research trip in search of goats. We hiked great distances through absolutely gorgeous country but didn't see the numbers of goats that we have in the past. All and all I came away with sore feet, tired muscles, several shots of goats and an energized spirit. Not all of our research trips pan out as expected but in the end it's the experience of getting out in the great outdoors.

It wasn't long after returning to Bozeman that we hiked the two thousand foot climb of a local mountain to find more goats. Again the hike was spectacular and spending the day watching the goats was priceless.

I am working on a few paintings for the SCI convention in Las Vegas, NV again this year. I will be posting my paintings to my website as they are completed.

Thank you all for the constant support. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

All my best,
Adam

We took a hike to the highest peak in the Bridger Range near Bozeman, MT and spent a unbelievable day with the goats - sometimes our greatest treasures are found close to home!
