1. Squeals!
Whether you're looking for giggles or ghouls, this weekend's prime time to go on the haunt. Little ones can expect (not-so-scary) chills and thrills at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium's Sea Scare party Saturday from 6-9 p.m., featuring a haunted maze, trick-or-treat stations, crafts, games and dancing. Or wear your costume and get in free to Tidepool Terrors Saturday at the Ocean Institute, with spooky science experiments, scary stories and creepy crafts. Kids 2-12 can make 19th century harvest crafts and hear spooky tales among the Victorian mansions at Heritage Square Museum Sunday afternoon.

2. Shrieks!
Older kids can (ages 10 and up) can white-knuckle their way through the monstrous haunted house at Soka University this Friday and Saturday from 6-10 p.m. (Little siblings can stay outside for treats and games.) Hardy souls ages 6 and up can also take after-dark tours of the Haunted Garden at Fullerton Arboretum Friday and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (There's a Saturday afternoon party for preschoolers.) Or step inside the haunted house at The Youth Center in Los Alamitos to meet face-to-face with horror movie hooligans.

3. Screams!
Or go big with a romp through a SoCal theme park. Legoland, Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland and Universal Studios all have their spook on through Halloween. Golf N' Stuff's hosting a Saturday party, with costume contests, karaoke, pumpkin carving and more. Or head to Boomers! in Fountain Valley or Irvine for Happy Hauntings, with free crafts, trick-or-treating and holiday discounts.

Music Classes Build Baby Brain Power
Gymboree Offers Fun Classes for Little Ones

Gymboree Play & Music understands the importance of music to growing children.

Whether rocking to favorite lullabies or crooning tunes together, music helps parents and babies share feelings of love, security, safety, comfort and closeness. Music can soothe tears and fears and show babies that interacting with others is fun and rewarding.

Music is also a multi-sensory experience that engages multiple areas of an infant's brain, stimulating babies' memory, speech and language development. Through music, young children learn how to categorize sounds and differentiate rhythm patterns, concepts that help build life-long problem-solving skills.

With a wide variety of music classes, Gymboree Play & Music helps parents carve out playtime, connect with their little ones and learn new songs to sing at home. Knowing the great social, cognitive and physical benefits of music, why not get started today?

At Gymboree Play & Music, you and your baby will build creativity, confidence and friendships that will last a lifetime.

FUN FAMILY FIND

Help your little one scrub all that Halloween candy off his pearly whites with the new Baby Banana Brush.  A combination toothbrush and teether, it has an "a-peel-ing" design that's easy for tiny hands to hold. Better yet, made from super-flexible silicone, it can reach every corner and crevice, making it a favorite of pediatric dentists. Look for the shark design, too, with fins for a handle. Find 'em on amazon.com.
