Greetings, |
Thank you for your ongoing support to help make this area of Southwest Minnesota a better place to live and to raise a family. There is a real spirit of giving in the air right now and an anticipation for winter and the holidays that many in our area celebrate.
It is important to remember that this time of year isn't always bright for everyone in our community. Individuals and families continue to struggle and the holidays can often add more stress to already difficult situations.
As you consider how you will celebrate this year, we hope that you will remember our neighbors in need by sharing the greatest gift that any one person can give -- the gift of yourself through the sharing of time, talent and/or treasure.
A healthy, educated community is important for all of us. As you consider year end giving, please make a donation to United Way of Southwest Minnesota to support the building blocks for a strong community - education, income, health, fighting hunger and promoting safety & well-being.
Thank you and happy holidays! |

Our hearts go out to the community of Newtown, CT and everyone who has suffered a tremendous loss. Even though this is many miles from Southwest Minnesota, we are all affected - especially our children who hear bits of information from news media and other sources.
Following are some tips for talking with children:
