Ascher announces plan to retire in spring 2013.

Ruth AscherAfter 10 years of service with United Way of Southwest Minnesota that was preceded by 18 years of work at Salina Area United Way (KS), Ruth Ascher has announced that she will retire next spring.  A carefully planned effort will allow for a smooth transition of leadership for the organization.

"I have enjoyed every minute of my involvement with all the volunteers and communities that are connected with United Way of Southwest MN.  Making the decision to retire from this organization has not been easy to do and I want to do everything possible to make this a seamless transition." said Ascher.

Jeremy Gossen, President of the Board of Directors said, "On behalf of the board we thank Ruth for over 10 years of exceptional leadership.  She has encouraged a vision of regional collaboration for our organization rather than just a focus on a single community.  Even as she plans for retirement, she is conscious of working with the board to have a smooth transition to new leadership."

The search committee is accepting applications  for the Executive Director position through December 14.  Click here to find information about the application process.
