Since we're talking about Earth Day and recycling, did you know that Bird Watcher goes through hundreds of cardboard boxes weekly? We recycle as often as possible, but if you are ever in need of sturdy, high quality cardboard boxes for moving, packing, shipping or projects, check with your local store and they will be very happy to give you what is available! Call ahead for large quantities.

Hi Birdwatchers!

Since Easter is just around the corner, we thought we would
spotlight some of our favorite new products. They all just happen to be EGGS!

The Eco-egg Birdhouse by Rosso's International is made from moisture resistant bamboo, natural binding agents and vegetable dyes. The 1.5" entrance hole is perfect for wrens, chickadees, titmice, nuthatches and bluebirds. It's funky, functional and Earth-friendly! Available in Sky Blue, Ruby (shown), Eggplant and Grass.

Next, we have the Patio Egg, a safe and effective mosquito deterrent. Its Deet-free formula is derived from all natural essential oils. The porous nature of the ceramic vessel allows the fragrance to diffuse into the air. The egg will darken in color as the oil is absorbed, releasing the floral scent, and will be effective continuously for months. It really works! Also available is the Skeeter Screen Personal Mosquito Deterrent, a spray that is safe for the whole family without being oily or greasy.

Our last egg is from the Scent Shop. The Aromatic Egg Diffuser works like the Patio Egg, in that the oil works its way up the sides and diffuses fragrance into the air. No more sticks! Great for any room in the house - especially in "no candle zones" like dormitories, offices or anywhere with pets and small children. Available in Anjou Pear, Lavender, Sea Breeze (shown), Sheer Tea and Teakwood.

Eggs make great Teacher gifts and Mother's Day presents. Every nest needs an egg!
 is April 22nd!

How are you celebrating? Check with your local nature centers and environmental groups - many need volunteers to pull invasive privet, pick up trash and clean streams. Some are hosting nature walks and kids' craft projects.

Or you can just do your own thing - put up some bird houses, watch butterflies, plant some native plants, buy local honey and recycle!
