Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E.

It's that time of year when we are reminded to be thankful and grateful for all that we have in our lives. Like many in this growing ethical vegan movement, we honor all life and give thanks with compassionate, plant-based celebrations where no living beings are harmed, exploited or served for dinner. After all, the essence of being thankful for life means doing no harm.

An annual tradition for Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E. is our "Vegan Thanks-Living" Dinner and Fundraiser. This year's event is on Saturday, November 23, 2013 and only a limited number of seats remain! You can read more about this annual event below. If you aren't located in the Houston area, please visit Meetup.com for other vegan "Thanks-Living" gatherings around the country or host one in your city.

There is also a new animated movie in theaters this month called "Free Birds", featuring vegan actor Woody Harrelson. The movie is about two turkeys who team up to travel back in time to change the course of history - and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good!  Learn more about our upcoming Houston movie day below. Major movie releases with topics such as this can reach thousands of people and give us hope for the future!

Last but certainly not least, the world was rocked by another natural disaster last week when

Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. Thousands of people and animals lost their lives, while millions are displaced and hungry. We want to highlight an amazing global relief organization called Food For Life that is already on the ground feeding vegan meals to thousands in need. See how you can help Food For Life below.

As always, we are grateful to you for supporting our organization!  Every day is an opportunity for each of us to plant seeds of compassion and to "be a voice for billions"!
