Remember to join us for our
2nd Saturdays Monthly Events!
December is
"Celebrate PEACE, Live Vegan"

Remember to join us for our "2nd Saturdays" Monthly Vegan Events! The next event is this Saturday, December 14 at 6:00 PM. Our popular vegan potlucks and presentations take place every month at the C.K.E.L. Reception Hall on 2353 Rice Blvd. (near Rice University) in Houston.

Features each month include a vegan & raw vegan potluck, presentations and door prizes. There are often local guest speakers, educational films, lively discussions and food demos. We rent an entire reception hall to host these monthly events so all can enjoy. Every month is something new!

In December, we are combining our annual "Celebrate PEACE, Live Vegan" event So Delicious Coconut nogwith the monthly "2nd Saturdays". The festive food theme this month is "Vegan Comfort Foods from around the World, Winter Greens & Fruits and Decadent Desserts". So many ways to be creative with vegan cuisine! We'll also be serving up free samples of So Delicious Coconut Nog

There will be a special presentation by VSOP Board of Director Noah Johnson with news of the exciting things ahead for us in 2014, including our 4th Annual VegFest Houston and our 10-year Anniversary. VSOP Board of Director Anuj Shah will also give a short presentation about "International Animal Rights Day". In addition, we'll have a friendly open discussion to share ways in which we can veganize any holiday meal at any time of year.

All attendees are asked bring a vegan dish to share (a serving size to feed 8-10 people) in order to eat from the potluck, plus a donation of $2 per adult, $1 per child to cover VSOP 2nd Saturdaysthe facility rental. All ages are welcome, but children cannot be left unattended at any time.

We strive to have eco-friendly events, so please bring your own reusable dinnerware, cups and utensils!

Plenty of parking is available at Rice University Stadium across the street and costs only $1 for events held at the C.K.E.L. venue. To RSVP for 2nd Saturdays, visit our website Community Events Calendar.

And, if you live outside the Houston area, please consider hosting a Vegan Monthly Gathering in your city or visit Meetup.com to search near you. The new year is a great time to launch monthly vegan events like ours in your community!

See you this weekend when we "Celebrate PEACE, Live Vegan"!
