Greetings!

We invite you to join us this Saturday, June 8, from 6:00-9:00 PM for our "2nd Saturdays" Monthly Meeting and Vegan Potluck! This month, we are pleased to announce the move to our new "2nd Saturdays" home at the C.K.E.L. Church Reception Hall, 2353 Rice Blvd. in Houston (near Rice University Stadium).

You will love our new monthly "2nd Saturdays" venue!
Features include an elegant interior with seating for up to 200 attendees, a drop-down film screen, outdoor courtyard, playground for children, large industrial-sized kitchen, a cozy lobby and more. To help us cover the monthly expenses of renting such an amazing venue, we will be asking a suggested donation of $2 per adult attendee and $1 per child.

In addition to celebrating our move to a new venue this month, we are having a Special "sneak-peek" of our 3rd Annual VegFest Houston, which takes place in just 9 days at Pershing Middle School Campus! You'll hear about the features, the new venue, our speakers, bands, exhibitors and more.

SOur special guest speaker this Saturday night is Stephanie Hoban, RD, LD. She is a natural foods chef and the founder of Ripe Healthy Seasonal Cuisine --a healthy vegan living website. Plus, she recently opened the Ripe Market Cafe --Houston's newest vegan eatery. Stephanie is also one of our featured presenters at VegFest Houston this year!

Our discussion topic this month will focus on "Vegan Health and Nutrition". This is a great time to have your questions answered by Stephanie, as she is a registered and licensed vegan dietitian!

The food theme for June is "Fresh from the Garden". With so many wonderful fruits
and veggies in season right now, this is a great time for salads, side dishes and entrees with ingredients from farmers markets or your own backyard garden. Our potlucks always have an amazing array of delicious vegan cuisine.  Both raw vegan and cooked vegan dishes are welcome and appreciated!

Directly after the event, we'll hold our last VegFest Houston Volunteer Orientation before the big day! If you are interested in volunteering at our 3rd annual festival on June 15, please plan to attend or contact our volunteer coordinator Phillip Salinas via email. We need lots of additional festival volunteers to help at Pershing Middle School!

Please remember to bring a vegan entree, side dish or dessert to share at the potluck! Our events are always vegan, so only vegan or raw vegan foods (no animal-derived ingredients). If you have questions on ingredients, feel free to contact us. Help us also keep our events earth-friendly and our costs down by bringing your own reusable dinnerware, plates & cups.

This is a great way to meet up with Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E. each month! For those interested, the fun continues after our monthly events with an informal vegan social mixer at an off-site location.

Please RSVP online to let us know you'll be there. All ages and newcomers are welcome at our "2nd Saturdays" vegan events! We hope you'll invite your friends as well! Doors open at 6:00 PM!

*For our supporters outside the Houston area and around the globe, we encourage you to join us by hosting a "2nd Saturdays" monthly vegan potluck in your city, or search for vegan gatherings on
