Greetings!
On Saturday, April 27, 2013, we will present a FREE film screening of "MEAT THE TRUTH", as part of our Environmental Awareness Outreach. This is an award-winning documentary which explores the massive impact of animal agriculture on climate change. It is the real "inconvenient truth" that other films fail to address! View the trailer of the film HERE!
Meat the Truth is not just a critical analysis of the relationship between the greenhouse gas effect and the intensive livestock farming industry. It also offers practical solutions, which can help to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Consumers are confronted with thought-provoking, personal dilemmas: would they be better off giving up their cars, or their steak? A short, open discussion will follow after the Houston film screening.
There will also be another fantastic Vegan Bake Sale Fundraiser held in conjunction with the film screening and the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale Campaign. Please support our bake sale and purchase lots of tasty vegan baked goods to enjoy while watching the film! Proceeds will help us cover the facility rental and the production costs of our upcoming 3rd Annual VegFest Houston! The vegan bake sale starts at 5:00 PM and the film starts at 6:00 PM. To donate vegan items for the bake sale, please email us. Admission is free! We've rented out the entire Reception Hall at 2353 Rice Blvd. (across from Rice University stadium) and can seat up to 200 attendees. Please help spread the word and join us next weekend! For the animals, Kristen Lee Ohanyan President & Co-founder and the entire team at Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E.
