Greetings!
Remember to join us this Saturday, February 9, from 6:00-8:30 PM for our "2nd Saturdays" Monthly Meeting and Vegan  Potluck! These fun, positive events are held each month at The Havens Center in Houston! For February, we are celebrating Black History Month, Asian New Year, Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day!
Our friendly gatherings feature a delicious vegan potluck, along with a discussion and either a short film, food demo or speaker presentations. There's something new every month! We'll also highlight various topics, such as: animal rights, ethical vegan living, vegan health, food preparation, eco-friendly living and more. This month, our food themes are "Flavors of Asia" and "Vegan Sweets".
 We have several presentations and discussion topics for February. In honor of Asian New Year, VSOP Volunteer Michael Battey will present a "Vegan in Vietnam" slide show from his recent motorcycle tour of Asia.  VSOP Community Relations coordinator Bernadette Session will speak about "Famous Black Vegans" for Black History Month.
 You'll also learn about the amazing vegan-operated New Dawn MT Farm Animal Sanctuary, founded by VSOP supporter Sue Eakins.  And, we'll hear about the cruelty of rodeos.
Please remember to bring a vegan entree, side dish or dessert to share at the potluck! Our events are always vegan, so only vegan or raw vegan foods (no animal-derived ingredients). If you have questions on ingredients, feel free to contact us. Help us also keep our events earth-friendly and our costs down by bringing your own reusable dinnerware, plates & cups.
 This is a great way to meet up with Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E. each month! Attendees will also learn about our volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and ongoing outreach, plus our upcoming fundraisers and our 9-year Anniversary in March. For those interested, the fun continues after our monthly event with an informal vegan social mixer at an off-site location.
Please RSVP online to let us know you'll be there. All ages and newcomers are welcome at our "2nd Saturdays" vegan events! We hope you'll invite your friends as well! Doors open at 6:00 PM!
