MakerSpace logo Information Technology and Services (ITS) unveiled the University's first MakerSpace on Friday, October 10, 2014. At the open house, guests mingled with ITS staff, interacted with the equipment, and gained special instruction on operating the zSpace Virtual Reality Simulator. Read more.  

 

Lubin House A core strategic element of long-term network planning is the continuing work of Information Technology and Services' (ITS) Network Design and Development (NDD) team to design, build, and improve the networks serving the University's distant locations.

Blackboard logo ITS hosted SU's first Blackboard Faculty Day on October 24. The Online Learning Services group produced the event, designed specifically for faculty members interested in learning how to best utilize Blackboard to support their teaching and their students' learning.

IT'S Connected logo A team of almost 80 ITS staff and student employees welcomed and supported first-year, transfer and returning students during Syracuse Welcome 2014. ITS maintained a daily presence, anticipating the technology support needs of the approximately 3,500 first-year and 300 transfer students who moved into the residence halls. Read more.

On Monday, November 3 Information Technology and Services (ITS) implemented one of the most effective ways to protect the University's confidential information. The new Password Change Management System (PCMS) sent out its first 479 email warning notifications. Read more.

Digital resources should be inherently accessible; for most people, the zeroes and ones that make up digital content are translated for display on screens, but the same information can be transmitted audibly or connected to an accessory that puts it into Braille. Yet, the vast majority of universities, publishers, and software creators do not embrace mainstream accessibility solutions.
