Carrier Dome's wireless sets it apart The Carrier Dome

Enter Passcode In the past thirty days, more than 3,000 SU faculty and staff have connected more than 4,100 mobile devices to SU's Exchange email system. New security standards will protect them, their devices and SU's data. Read more.

Sorting books at SU Library Facility

The new SU Library Facility is a 20,000 sq. ft., 1.2-million-volume repository, where taking up space is high science. "We've been able to integrate the systems in ways no other institution we're aware of is able to do." Read more.

Take Microsoft Office home!

Home Use Faculty and staff at SU who use Microsoft Office on SU-owned computers at work are now eligible for Microsoft's new Home Use Program, which offers digital downloads of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 for $9.95. Read more.

  • There are currently 192 Sharepoint sites across campus.
  • Expressions hosts 1,284 sites and 1,421 users.  
  • Collage, SU's digital asset management system, now comprises almost 800GB of storage.
Wireless upgraded in Bird Library Wireless networking is improving quickly at Bird Library, which now boasts 44 access points that routinely serve more than 1,700 devices at once.

Professional Development Opportunity

 

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is now a Certified Apple Training Center! Final Cut Pro X training, taught by Certified Apple Instructor Jason Kohlbrenner, is open to beginning and experienced editors. 

 

The final set of classes will be held January 25th - January 27th (F-Su,  9am - 5pm, 463 Newhouse 3).

 

The course, including a textbook and the exam fee, costs $750 and is limited to eight students.
