Kira will talk about her work with the theater and share her observations on how letting the audience into her imagination as she writes has dramatically changed her work.

Kay Snow Contest Accepting Entries


The purpose of this annual writing contest, named in honor of Willamette Writers' founder, Kay Snow, is to help writers reach professional goals in writing through a broad array of categories, and also to encourage student writers. In addition to cash prizes, winners will be listed on the Willamette Writers website, are honored at our Willamette Writers Conference the 2nd weekend in  August at the Portland Airport Sheraton Hotel.

Gary Corbin | Member Annoucement

Gary Corbin is pleased to announce the debut of his legal thriller, Lying in Judgment, on March 5. The novel is available in both print and all major ebook formats and can be found on Amazon.com, as well as in the iTunes, Sony Reader, Nook, and Kindle Reader bookstores.

Meg Erbele | Workshop Announcement 

Come explore an ancient landscape peopled with stories to connect with your own stories. Travel to Cork and deep Ireland during the summer solstice to excavate memories in the form of poetry or prose. Led by a mother-daughter team, Meg Eberle and Kaia Sand, this traveling workshop will involve classes, independent writing, excursions, lectures by Irish writers, and opportunities to immerse yourself in local culture. Historic Cork will anchor the first half of the workshop and we will move to the Beara Peninsula village of Glengarriff for the second half. A few spots remain open.
