Dear Parents,
I hope that this message finds you well. Please keep our tour in your prayers, as we area very much looking forward to it. I have three important details to share with you. First, our School Nurse, Mrs. Marie Marz, R.N., has asked me to make it clear to you that all pills of any kind (including vitamins, Advil and the like) must be administered through her during the tour. Students may not self-administer any pills of any kind, unless it has been expressly approved by her. The students have been notified of this, both verbally, and in writing, so I'm just keeping you in the loop on this. If there is important medication that your child requires, then it must be brought to Mrs. Marz, who will be with us on the tour. If you have questions about this, please contact her.
Secondly, I have made copies of our Choir Tour Itinerary on my First Class Conference, to which your child has access. Once they print it for you, it will allow you to know where we are, with contact information, throughout the tour. While we are en route home, I will give everyone a more accurate ETA. I ask that you please be waiting for your child here, so that travel-weary chaperons (like me) do not have to wait with your child after everyone else has left. Also, please be understanding that we will have to unpack our choir equipment before your child can leave. "No one is done until everyone is done."
Finally, we are very excited that we will be singing at the Solemn Pontifical Mass at 10:15 AM at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday, March 16 with Timothy Cardinal Dolan. Though I have conducted there before myself during my seminary years, this is the first school group I have brought in 20 years of touring, so I am very excited!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at rfish@pjp2hs.org, and I'll do my best to help you. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you in person at our Tour Kickoff Concert on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 PM.
Suzanne Lynch, our wonderful Co-Chair of the Friends of the Performing Arts, has already been in touch about helping us with snacks and drinks for the tour and rehearsals. Non-perishable snacks (individually wrapped) and drinks with sugar are preferred, to give our singers energy! We still need drinks and snacks at this point.
I am very much looking forward to our tour!
In Christ,
Richard Fish, Jr.
Director of Performing Arts
