15th Annual International Trade Conference

 in a Hostile World! is the topic of the breakfast keynote session at this year's International Trade Conference. Supervisory Special Agent Joshua D. Ford with the Counterintelligence Division of the FBI will be presenting. The FBI's Counterintelligence Division protects U.S. sensitive information and technologies, and thereby protecting U.S. competitiveness in an age of globalization.
Learn about common elicitation techniques and measures you can take to protect your company from economic espionage.
You Export What?!...To Where?! is back as our luncheon topic, featuring two WTC member companies and their global successes:
AFP is one of the leading aseptic food processing and packaging companies in the world. Their product line includes cheese sauces, puddings, dips, shelf stable cream cheeses, nutritional beverages and soups.
 Joe D'Antonio is the Vice President for International Sales and Business Development at Oakworks. Oakworks manufacturers medical, spa, and massage equipment for professionals in the Integrative Health Care industry and their clients. Oakworks currently exports to all 50 states and to more than 35 countries around the world.

Fox Chapel at London Bookfair
Fox Chapel Publishing was one of four PA exhibitors at the renowned London Book Fair, held in April 2015. The Fair welcomed over 25,000 professional visitors from more than 100 countries.
RoomMates Décor at PA's Asia Offices
Adam Say, Director of International Sales for
RoomMates Peel and Stick Décor visited PA's trade offices in Taiwan and Korea earlier this month during his trip to several Asian countries.

Hannah Copenheaver, WTC's trade specialist, had the opportunity to spent a week in London last month, combining research for her graduate degree with WTC work. She researched "emerging issues in global urban education" as part of her Master's capstone project at American University with Save the Children. Hannah also spent time at the London Book Fair, where she visited the PA exhibitors, including WTC member Fox Chapel Publishing.
The Fair also offered many seminars on topics like children's literacy and inclusion, which were all concepts that Hannah tied back into her Master's research. Her favorite statistic learned from the London Book Fair is that literacy adds an additional 13 years onto a person's life! Hannah was also able to spent time with Martin Lewis, PA's UK Trade Office Representative.

US Commercial Service Presents
TRADE WINDS - AFRICA
September 14-21, 2015
The 2015 Trade Winds program offers U.S. companies the opportunity to explore eight markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. Hosted in South Africa, the Trade Mission will feature an Africa focused business forum, consisting of regional and industry specific conference sessions as well as pre-arranged consultations with U.S. Senior Government Diplomats representing commercial markets from 19 different countries throughout the region.
There will also be multiple trade mission stops that will give participants the opportunity to conduct business-to-business meetings with pre-screened firms in Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania. For more information click here.

Business & Cultural Trip to Austria and Germany

The York County Economic Alliance is facilitating a trip to Germany and Austria as part of a business and cultural tour October 16-24, 2015. The visit will include tours of Innsbruck, Austria; Salzburg, Austria; Mittenwald and Garmisch Partenkirchen; Neuschwanstein Castle; Munich, Germany and Merano, Italy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to make business connections through meetings arranged by the YCEA in partnership with the World Trade Center Harrisburg and the Commonwealth's Office of International Business Development. For more information click here.
