Have you ever wondered how much is really exported from the southcentral PA region? Actually, it is quite a lot - over $14.4 billion worth of products and services were exported from the 8 counties in our region during 2012!
With the help of our interns, we were able to pull together county level data for exports of goods and exports of services, based on data from a recent study by the Brooking's Institute called "Export Nation 2013".
Here are some of our report highlights:
- Our region's exports accounted for 20.8% of total PA exports in 2012.
- From 2003 to 2012, our exports grew by 54.92%, the highest percentage compared to other regions in the state.
- Our region is second only to the southeast region (Philadelphia) in terms of total exports.
- In 2012, exports supported 73,064 jobs in our region.

| Global Access Program Grants |
Applications Still Available
The State's GAP grant reimburses up to $3500 of eligible expenses associated with an international business development trip. This program is funded in part through a grant award from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Qualifying activities include:
* Overseas Trade Mission Participation
* Overseas Trade Show Participation
* Foreign Market Sales Trip
* Subscription to US Department of Commerce services
funded activity.
Grant applications need to be submitted to our office at least 3 weeks prior to the activity for which funding is requested. Check here for more details.
