Winter Webinar:  EEI Filing via AES

Avoid winter weather hazards and join us for a webinar on January 20 to learn how to correctly file your Electronic Export Information (EEI) to the Automated Export System (AES).  Most US exports require EEI filings and late filing, no filing, or incorrect filing can lead to significant penalties. Seminar topics include:
  • Who is responsible for EEI filing
  • Avoiding common errors
  • When and what to file
  • Correcting a previous filing
  • Dealing with exemptions, exception and export licenses
  • What steps to take if a freight forwarder files on your behalf
The webinar is presented by Bob Imbriani, VP of International Business Development at Team Worldwide.  Cost for the webinar is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.  More information and registration details are available on our website.

PA Trade Office Changes Announced

Closing of Trade Offices:  Unfortunately, the State's trade offices in Vietnam and Shanghai, China are being closed due to funding cuts.  We would like to thank Ning Shao, Kevin Meng and the entire team in Shanghai, as well as Giang Nguyen in the Vietnam office for their many years of service to Pennsylvania companies.  The Shanghai team will remain available via their fee-based services, please contact us if you would like more information.

New Office Opening: Last month, the State announced the official opening of their newest trade office in Moscow, Russia.  This office is funded through a special grant from the SBA's STEP program and we welcome Nonna Kopylova as the newest member to the PA international office team.  Nonna was able to meet with companies in our region on November 18 and 19.

International Market Expansion Grants Available

Despite a significant cut to the State's International Trade budget, we are happy to announce that both the Market Access Grant (MAG) and Global Access Program (GAP) continue to be available to small and mid sized companies interested in expanding their global presence.  Thanks to TeamPA for providing funding for the MAG program and to the SBA for funding the GAP program.   Grant amounts of up to $5000 are available to eligible companies.  Please contact our office for more information.
