One-on-one Appointments with PA's Trade Representatives
This year, our Annual International Trade Conference will be held in conjunction with the York County Economic Alliance's International Business & Workforce Expo. The Expo features domestic and international businesses, representing a wide variety of industries, including trade service providers from the private and public sectors. As in previous years, we have invited embassies from around the world to display information about their respective countries and Pennsylvania's Overseas Trade Representatives from Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Korea and the UK will be available for individual company appointments.
The event kicks off with a networking reception on May 7 and Governor Corbett has been confirmed to open the Expo that evening. On May 8 we are offering a series of short seminars in the international section of the Expo, exhibits will be open, and appointments with PA's trade representatives will take place. PA's International Standards &  Testing Hotline
The State's Center for Trade Development has selected Keystone Compliance, a regulatory compliance lab headquartered in New Castle, PA, to serve as the provider of product certification assistance to manufacturers throughout the Commonwealth. The assistance will be free of charge and provided via the Commonwealth's Expert Hotline. Keystone Compliance experts will guide manufacturers with product certification requirements and regulatory testing parameters. Please contact the WTC if you would like to take advantage of this new service. |
WTC Member Experts Present at Global Conferences
Philadelphia Mixing Solutions
Christopher Hastings, Petroleum Marketing Specialist at
Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, Ltd spoke at the recent StocExpo Conference & Exhibition in Antwerp, Belgium about reducing energy costs while increasing operating efficiencies in terminal tank farms. The Philadelphia Mixing Solutions exhibit showcased products addressing solutions geared for the petroleum industry at StocExpo.
Creative Engineers
Richard VanLieshout, President of Creative Engineers, will be presenting a technical paper at the Avignon International Conference on Decommissioning, held in Avignon, France on April 6 - 11, 2013. The presentation deals with removal of alkali metals from certain types of
nuclear reactors where sodium and some of its alloys are or were used as a heat transfer fluid.
Coupling Corporation
James Anderson Jr, President of Coupling Corporation of America, was one of the featured discussion group leaders for a session on "Alignment and Couplings" at the Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium, held in Doha, Qatar in March.
Maintenance Reliability Group (MRG)
Richard Wurzbach, President of MRG, has been invited to speak at the UK Wind Turbine Owners Forum, held April 15 - 19, in Reading, UK. He will discuss the success of the "Grease Thief" oil sampling device and its current applications in the US and Denmark.

Our members represent a very diverse industry group encompassing large and small companies, manufacturers and service providers. They include seasoned and novice importers and exporters and all of them share an interest in expanding their international business. Grant Funding for International Business
Development Still Available
Up to $5,000 is available through Pennsylvania's Center of Trade Development to qualifying small and medium sized companies interested in expanding internationally. Qualifying activities include overseas trade mission or trade show participation, foreign market sales trips, subscription to US Department of Commerce services and website globalization. This grant program is funded in part through the U.S. Small Business Administration. For more information and applications, please contact our office. |
