Upcoming Event: International Travel Roundtable
Join us on February 22 for a roundtable discussion focused on international business travel experiences. WTC members Kim Willing, Hydroworx, and Adam Say, Roommates- a division of York Wallcoverings, will lead the discussion along with Dr. Debra Bell from WellSpan. Share stories, tricks and tips for the frequent traveler and learn about ways to cope with the personal, mental and emotional facets of international business travel. We are hosting the event at the WTC offices in York, from 8:30 am - 10:30 am. A light breakfast will be served. Complimentary for WTC members, and $15 for non-members. Register online. |

We are very happy to welcome two interns for this Spring semester. Hannah Copenheaver is a senior at York College, where she majors in International Relations with a minor in International Business. Cody Richard is a junior at Lebanon Valley College where he is a Business Administration major. |

WTC to Issue Certificates of Free Sale
Foreign governments sometimes require a "Certificate of Free Sale" for products not under the jurisdiction of the FDA or USDA. Such certificates provide evidence that products are legally sold without restriction, and approved by the regulatory authorities in the United States.
As of this month, the World Trade Center Harrisburg can issue such Certificates of Free Sale, which state that the company selling the products has submitted evidence to us that the products listed on the certificate are freely sold in the United States. Contact us for more information or visit our

HydroWorx Sells First Therapy Pool to India
The first HydroWorx therapy pool for the Indian market is on its way this week. The MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bangalore placed the order a few months ago and Kim Willing, Director of International Sales at HydroWorx is planning an in-service program at the facility once the pool is installed in April.
Hair Direct Opens European Fulfillment Center
Hair Direct Inc., has opened a European Union Fulfillment Center in the Netherlands. The Bainbridge, PA based company specializes in hair-loss solutions and currently has over 5000 customers in the EU. The new fulfillment center will reduce shipping costs and eliminate duties of Hair Direct's products for their European customers.

Updated Lumber Export Regulations for Korea
As of January 31, Korea has suspended acceptance of Black Walnut logs from Pennsylvania and other states impacted by the Walnut Twig Beetle/Thousand Cankers Disease unless the logs are heat treated and certified by APHIS before shipment. Please note that fumigation is no longer an option for walnut logs being shipped from Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and other western states. |

Reports 10% Gain in Cargo
With 4,418,674 metric tons of cargo handled at the Port of Philadelphia in 2012 compared to the 4,001,759 tons handled in 2011, the maritime facilities of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) showed a healthy 10.42% gain.
Highlights among the Port's 2012 cargo statistics include the following: with 197,854 tons handled last year, steel was up 21%. With 47,457 tons handled, project cargo was also up 21%. Sugar, a brand new cargo for the Port of Philadelphia in 2012, weighed in at 24,331 tons last year. |
