RPA President's Message

What will be done with the extra money raised?
After discussions with Edee, the faculty and some RPA Board members, it was decided that the additional funds raised will be used to purchase another lunch table for the garden area ($1,000) and umbrella ($300) as well as three air conditioners for the elementary classrooms ($400 each). Thus, the total purchases come to approximately $16,350. Any remaining funds that are not used for shipping, extended warranties, etc. will be put into a fund for purchases next year.
The extra table and umbrella bring the total in the enclosed garden area up to four. Now the entire elementary school will be able to have lunch or classes at the same time. Middle school classrooms received air conditioners last year and now the three elementary classrooms will have air conditioning. The purchase of the additional items was discussed and approved at the last RPA meeting.
The school year is rapidly coming to a close. Our next event is to provide dinner at the Open House on Wednesday, May 18th. Please click on the sign up sheet to bring salads, fruit and paper goods. Only 3 families have signed up so far so please help!
On Thursday, May 26th from 7 to 8:30 there will be a parent education presentation on internet safety and social media. This was identified by Raskob parents and guardians as one of the most important issues that we all need help with. Please join us in the California Room.
Our last RPA meeting of the year will be on Friday, June 3rd at 8:30 am in the California Room. We hope to have a finalized slate of officers for next year. Helping with the RPA is a great way to meet other families and learn more about the school. The school is a unique place that can be life changing for our kids. I hope that you will get involved! Best Regards, Marianne
