Hello all, it sure is busy around here!
The Social is just over a week away and we are hoping for a big turnout. Please RSVP so we can finalize our planning. Thank you.
Did you know one of the current Raskob teachers attended Raskob? Want to find the answer to this or any other burning questions, then come to the Social. I know I was curious about the transition to middle school when my daughter was in 5th grade. I was really glad I came and met some of the middle middle school teachers and faculty. Meeting and socializing with teachers and other parents was very rewarding, plus I got a great deal of questions answered.
The Raskob Social is the Raskob Parent Associations biggest fundraiser of the year, and we are finalizing the list of items that Raskob would like the RPA to purchase for the school. We are focusing on Professional Development for faculty and teachers, Technology for our the school, Library materials and supplying our new Garden Area. You will have the opportunity to make donations for each category or to make a general donation to the school using a check or credit card.
Some of may be thinking Garden Area? Yes, we have a garden area. This is the walled space outside of the therapy rooms and on the same level as the elementary classrooms. This area has been transformed from an unused mess into a lovely and useful space with new cement and plantings. Check out the picture of the new space in the side column. We are hoping to raise money at the Social to purchase 3 lunch tables (similar to those on the playground), 2 umbrellas and 4 storage benches. The benches will contain emergency supplies for Raskob. This area will be used as an outdoor classroom and as a lunch area. It really is a lovely space
Mark your calendars: our next RPA Meeting and Quarterly Coffee will be on Friday, April 8th at 8:30 am in the California Room. Our guest speaker will be Stefani Wulkan, the Lead Teacher and Assistant Director of Raskob. Stefani also helps 8th graders and their families figure out what high school to attend.
Lastly, thank you to the room parents of the elementary classes who are organizing a teacher appreciation breakfast on March 17th.
Best Regards,
Marianne
