Message from RPA President
Happy Thursday Everyone!
I hope your family has comfortably settled back into the routine of school-life.  I know it can be hard to break out of summer-mode and into school-mode.  This week's notes will hopefully aid the transition back into school-mode.
Thank you for stepping up to volunteer! It says a great deal about our community when the vast majority of needed volunteer positions have almost been accounted for.  We are still actively looking for:
Spirit Wear Coordinator:  We have a website up and running.  We just need someone to promote it from time to time and possibly edit the merchandise.
Calling all Room Parents: Our room parent coordinator, Julie Porte-Vega, should have contacted everyone who signed up to be a room parent.  If you signed up and have not been contacted please email her, .  All other volunteers will be contacted within the next week.
Get Your Voice Heard:  All Raskob parents and guardians are invited to our first Raskob Parents Association (RPA) meeting on Friday, September 4th, at 8:30 am in the California Room.  We will discuss plans for the year, set dates for major activities, discuss fundraising options and reach out to all of those who signed up to volunteer this year.  We will try to finish by 9:30 am, but the meeting may run a bit longer as we have a lot to accomplish.  We welcome everyone's ideas, and I hope you can attend!
RPA Dues:  Please remember to either drop off your dues with Marlen in the Raskob office or mail them.  Any amount is appreciated.  Dues are the RPA's second largest source of fundraising and we are hoping to have 100% of Raskob families participate.
Lastly, I would like to thank our Co-VPs of Communication, Amy Wright and Becky Stephens, for the wonderful job that they are doing with the Raskob Notes this year.  The addition of photos is a wonderful touch.

Best Regards,
Marianne Mitosinka, RPA President

Around Campus

As I ventured around campus this week, I was struck by the positive, thoughtful and very creative nonverbal messages our children receive daily.

I highly recommend enlarging these two signs and checking them out in detail, as they contain important life lessons for all.

Fixed Mindset
Remember all Raskob parents and guardians are automatic members of the RPA, it's the membership dues that are voluntary. The collection of dues is an important fundraiser for the RPA which is why the RPA Board has set a 100% participation goal for the collection of dues this school year. The suggested donation amount is $55, however, you can choose the amount that is right for your family.

Use this links below to download the Raskob Parent Association Membership Form that fits your payment option. Once you fill out the form please turn it into Marlen Valle in the front office.

Don't Miss Out! Join the Raskob Google Group!
We have launched our Raskob Parent/Guardian Google Group and want to make sure your not missing out.

Our Google Group is a forum/listserve designed to simulate the playground of a neighborhood school. The forum is meant to facilitate communication within the Raskob parent community - a place to share ideas and resources and to otherwise feel connected on a regular basis.

You should have already received an invitation to join the Raskob Parent/Guardian Google Group. You simply need to accept the invitation to join.

If you did not receive the invitation and you have a Google Account click here to join.

Sincere Apologies
I know there have been some communication
hiccups regarding the start date of swimming and the correct night for Back to School Night.  Please know the RPA is working with Raskob to put in some checks and balances to hopefully keep the lines of communication clear for our community.

Here's to correct dates on our calendars!
