Message from RPA President
Greetings.

I hope everyone had a nice break. I have packed a great deal into this message, so please take a moment to read.

Our next RPA meeting will be on Wednesday, March 4 from 8:30-9:30 in the Raskob Library.  We will discuss final preparations for the Raskob Social and vote on fundraising objectives.

Speaking of the Raskob Social (our biggest social and fundraising event of the year!), thank you to those who have informed of us of their attendance. If you have not had a chance to respond yes or no, please do so by March 6. And if you have not been able to access the Evite, please go ahead and email Wanda Cole-Frieman at colefrieman@me.com directly. This is a great chance for Raskob parents, guardians and faculty to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere with great food and beverages. Click here for event details.

We are busy recruiting board members for next year. Most of our current board is comprised of eighth grade parents and we really need parents/guardians of students in the lower grades to step up and fill the positions being vacated by our graduating families. It is important that parents/guardians have time to learn the job before all of the existing board members have graduated with their students. Below is a listing and description of the available roles on the RPA Board.

A note about RPA meetings, their day and time. Traditionally, RPA meeting have been the first Wednesday morning of each month right after drop-off. In the past, we have tried evening meetings, but it was very difficult to get parents to drive back to Raskob at night. We have also tried conference call meetings at night, but participation was negligible.  We discussed meetings coinciding with afternoon pick-up, but know this is difficult for those with children in multiple schools and children participating in after school activities. As you can see there is no one size fits all solution, however, as the parent population changes schedules change and another morning could be a better fit. It is possible to conduct a survey to see if preferences have changed. If you are a parent looking to fulfill your required volunteer hours and would like to help conduct a survey in order to provide information for the 2015-2016 school year, please let us know by contacting me at rpapresident@gmail.com.

Best Regards,
Marianne
