Stay Informed... Raskob has A Lot Going On

Our RPA has been busy and has a lot going on in the next few weeks, so please read thoroughly and mark your calendars:
  1. See's Candyies orders are due tomorrow, Nov. 21. The RPA earns about 25% of each order.
  2. RPA dues are still being gratefully accepted and will be put to good use (please get them to Marlen in the office).
  3. The Book Fair will take place Dec. 2-4. Prior to the opening of the Book Fair your students will go through the Fair with their classes and write down books that they might like. You can browse, shop and order books at the Book Fair in the Raskob Library (see hours of operation below). There will also be an option to order online. Shopping at the Book Fair helps Raskob get additional books for its library and classrooms.
  4. The December RPA meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the California Room from 8:30-9:30am.  The Book Fair will be open before and after the meeting.
  5. Our first of two parent education events will take place on Thursday, Dec.4. See below for more event information and RSVP details. The Book Fair will be open before and after the presentation.
We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break and that we see you at the many events taking place during the first week of December.

Best Regards,

Marianne Mitosinka, RPA President

and How Can You Support It
presented by:
Carrie Lindemuth

HNU California Room

RSVP by Monday, Dec. 1

____________________________

The term "Executive Function Thinking" refers to a complex set of cognitive skills that we use to organize ourselves, plan, budget our time, and problem solve. At their foundation, they are skills used to self-regulate our thoughts, emotions, actions, and motivation. This session will help you understand how the brain self-regulates and how to use that information to support your child. Appropriate for parents, teachers, and caregivers of children ages 8-14.

Carrie Lindemuth is the founder of Executive Function Junction, and parent of a teen with executive dysfunction, Carrie has been researching and developing programs to teach the executive function thinking skills necessary to support social regulation, adaptive decision making, and academic success since 2003. Carrie is affiliated with Communication Works that specializes in social communication, self regulation, speech, language, occupational therapy and executive functioning.
