Message from RPA President
Thank you to Stefani Wulkan for a very interesting presentation at yesterday's quarterly coffee. Stefani spoke about her roles as Assistant Director of Raskob and lead teacher.  She also spoke about the assistance that Raskob provides to eighth graders and their families in terms of identifying and applying to high schools.  One informational forum that Raskob will host is Alumni Night where Raskob alumni return to answer questions and talk about the high schools that they are attending. This event is open to all Raskob parents and students and typically takes place in November.  If you are interested in helping to organize this event, please contact Jessica Baiocchio at baiocchi@hnu.edu.

At the parent association (RPA) meeting that followed Stefani's presentation, we approved the proposed budget prepared by Treasurer, Anne Schreiner. In addition to other business, we also discussed some preliminary fundraising objectives such as purchasing more Kindles, iPads, one last document camera and projector, and umbrellas for the new lunch tables. If you're interested in finding out more about what is discussed at our RPA meetings and cannot attend you can find, approved, minutes on the RPA website.

Mark your calendars for our next RPA meeting on Wednesday, November 5. We hope to see you there!

Best Regards,

Marianne Mitosinka, RPA President

RPA Activities & Information
Teacher Appreciation Breakfast
The room parents for Ms. Williford's and Mr. Lopez's advisory classes will be coordinating a teacher appreciation breakfast on Thursday, October 16.  Ms. Hagstrom and Ms. Sweeney's advisory classes will handle a similar teacher appreciation breakfast on Janurary 15 and the elementary classes will take care of a breakfast on March 6.  Room parents will contact families directly via email with detailed information prior to each event.  These breakfasts are one of the ways that we can thank the Raskob faculty for their hard work and dedication to our students.

If you have questions, please contact your room parent. Middle school families this would be the room parent for your child's advisory.

Helpful Ways to Use Raskob's Google Group
At the RPA meeting yesterday, we discussed ways in which participating in the Google Group could be helpful to families by facilitating discussions regarding assistive technology, seminars, and many other subjects of particular interest to Raskob families.  For example, if you hear of a workshop or seminar that you think would be of interest to the Raskob community, please post the workshop details including title, date, location, sign-up website and, if easy, a brief explanation. Another example of useful posting to Google Groups is once you've attended a workshop or talk and you found it to have helpful information such as a website, a book, handouts, etc. you should feel free to share this information with our community through our Google Group. We hope that you will all participate in this and other ways that are helpful to you and others.

If you are reading this and don't know what the Raskob Google Group is or if you just forgotten to join but want to please contact Judy Blumhorst at jblumhorst@gmail.com

Teacher Wish List Follow-up Needed
For the last two weeks we have had information about teacher Teacher Wish Lists tin this newsletter. Each time we have had a link which lead you to the list in Google Docs. It is super important that when an item is donated that we take the time to mark it off in the Google Doc. We don't need your name, please just indicate "donated" in the column provided on the Wish List. This will help prevent confusion over what has been donated or not.

Thank you to everyone who has clicked and donated.
