Message from RPA President
It's Time for Back to School Night
We look forward to seeing everyone at Back to School Night this evening from 6-7:30pm. Although the focus is on your student's classroom teacher(s), the Raskob Parents Association (RPA) will have a lot of information for you also.  First, the room parents in each elementary grade and in each middle school advisory class will introduce themselves.  The RPA will have a table on the playground with information about how the RPA and school communicate with each family, how to order Raskob spirit wear and, of course, there will be a basket where you can leave your RPA dues check and credit card forms.

Our next RPA meeting will also be one our quarterly coffees and is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st at 8:30am in the California Room.  Our guest speaker will be Stephanie Wulkan, Assistant Director of Raskob.  Stephanie is the lead teacher at Raskob and works with all of the teachers on a regular basis.  She also is very involved with 8th grade advisory and in assisting each student and family with finding the right high school.  Stephanie will also be acting director of Raskob while Edee is out on maternity leave. After Stephanie's presentation we will have a brief RPA meeting which will cover the budget for the year, fundraising goals and the book fair.

Best Regards,

Marianne Mitosinka, RPA President

Easy Ways to Help Raise Money for Raskob

In the folder of information that will be handed out at Back to School Night there is an "Easy Fundraising" flyer with information about the following:

eScrip - Please renew your account by November 1, so that Raksob can continue to receive funds via your purchases at select stores. Please note that Safeway no longer makes a contribution when you use a credit card for your purchases, however, debit card transactions still garner a donation for Raskob. And don't forget you must swipe your Safeway Club Card for Raskob to benefit from eScrip contributions.

Whether you need to renew, add Raskob to your designated schools or sign-up for the first time, please go the eScrip website to log in. Click the renew button, if applicable, log in and follow the steps, and be sure to select Raskob Day School. In addition to your Safeway card you can also sign up your Chevron card as well as any other credit cards you use regularly. Participating stores will also contribute to eScrip for Raskob.

Box Tops for Education - The collection of Box Tops has tripled in the last few years, which has meant more money for the school. We encourage everyone to let family and friends, who do not have kids collecting Box Tops for their schools, to collect and send them to you for your child to bring to school. A collection sheet was in the Back to School packet, so you can tape them onto the sheet and leave in the tubs in the school lobby.

Lucky Shares Program - Everyone will be receiving a card. Just remember to swipe your card before you check out at Lucky's, Savemart, Foodmax - and Lucky will make a contribution to Rakob.

Amazon Associates - Just click on our link before you begin your shopping on Amazon and Raskob will be rewarded. You can always find Raskob personalized link in the Thursday Notes under "Quick Links" section to the right or the RPA web page under "Shop to Support Raskob." Share the link with family and friends.

I thank you for continuing to support Raskob in Easy Fundraising.

We are Half Way There
As of today 50% of all Raskob families have paid their RPA dues. Thank you so much to those that have done so. If you haven't the RPA will have a table on the lower level where you can leave your forms and contribution.

Our goal is for 100% participation. Please help us reach this very important goal. The collection of dues is an important fundraiser for the RPA which is why the RPA Board seeks 100% participation. The suggested donation amount is $55, however, you can choose the amount that is right for your family.

RPA dues are tax-deductible and help cover the expenses for the Teacher Appreciation Lunch in the spring, parent education events, hospitality at quarterly coffees and some of the RPA's basic administrative functions such as the hosting of the RPA website and services used for the creation of this newsletter.

Use the links below to download the Raskob Parent Association Membership Form that fits your payment option. Once you fill out the form please turn it into Marlen Valle in the front office.
