Message from RPA President

Greetings,
The next quarterly coffee will feature Polly Mayer, Director of the Raskob Clinic. She will give a presentation offering suggestions of books that might be helpful to Raskob parents, guardians and caretakers as well as be available to answer questions. The coffee will be on Wednesday, February 5 at 8:30am in the California Room. A short Raskob Parents Association meeting will follow, beginning at 9am where we will discuss the upcoming Raskob Social and its fundraising objectives.
Toast and Taste: A Raskob Adult Social will take place on Saturday, March 8 from 6:30 to 9:30pm in the home of one of our Oakland parents. Please mark your calendars as this is one of the few opportunities where Raskob parents have the opportunity to socialize with one another. There will also be an opportunity to help fund items that have been requested by the Raskob faculty for the benefit of the students.
The second of our two parent education events will be on Thursday, March 27 from 7 to 8:30pm and feature Dr. Michael Thompkins, a nationally recognized expert in the area of anxiety. He will focus his presentation on children with learning differences and ADHD and show how these issues are frequently linked to anxiety. A question and answer session will follow his presentation. This event will take place in the California Room.
Lastly, I would like to say how much fun it is to watch our middle school JV and varsity basketball teams. If you have some free time, please come and support the teams. Their next game is Tuesday, January 28th (4 pm for the JV game and 5 pm for varsity) at the Tobin Gym on the HNU campus. Go Roadrunners!
Best Regards,
Marianne
