Message from RPA President
|
Although the Book Fair in the Raskob Library will close today, November 7, following an afternoon sale from 2:30 to 4 pm, you can still shop online through Sunday. Proceeds from the sale are used by Raskob teachers to purchase books for the classrooms and library. Thank you to Carla Dartis and Becky Stevens for coordinating this wonderful event and to Laurel Books which provided the books and is a great Raskob supporter.
Speaking of shopping, we have two more opportunities for you. The See's Candy fundraiser is starting and order forms will be coming home with your children by the end of the week. This is an important fundraiser for the RPA, so please consider ordering candy for holiday gifts. Contact Dayna Broussard for questions about the See's fundraiser. The other shopping opportunity is at our Raskob Spirit Wear Store. While neither the school nor the RPA make any money from the sale of spirit wear there is a great selection of T shirts, hoodies and other items for showing your Raskob pride.
Thank you to Karen Cevallos for agreeing to be the new RPA secretary. Minutes from recent meetings are posted on the RPA website as soon as they have been approved so that you can stay informed even if you cannot attend the meetings on the first Wednesday of each month.
We had our first RPA parent education event of the year Tuesday night. Officer DeWarns gave a presentation regarding internet safety. He also presented this information in a different format to the middle school students during the school day. Copies of his presentation are available on CDs in the Raskob office. Thank you to Marjorie Stamper-Kurn for organizing this event.
Our first quarterly coffee took place prior to the RPA meeting yesterday with Edee Ben Ari as our featured speaker. Thank you to Karine Bobut and Karen Kelley for bringing coffee, fruit and pastries. Our next RPA meeting will be on Wednesday, December 4, at 8:30 am in the California Room. We hope to see you there!

All students will be bringing home the paperwork and order forms to support our annual See's Candy fundraiser. Be sure to check those backpacks this weekend and begin to think about your See's Candy needs for the Holidays. No need to wait in long lines at the See's store when you can place an order, have the items delivered to you at home and have a portion of purchase support Raskob. Don't forget to share the convenient shopping opportunity with your co-workers, family and friends. All orders are due back at school by November 21 - no exceptions. All checks should be made out to Raskob. For questions contact Dayna.
