Today's Reading
The Resurrection of the Lord
The Mass of Easter Day

Peter proceeded to speak and said:
"You know what has happened all over Judea,
beginning in Galilee after the baptism
that John preached,
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Spirit and power.
He went about doing good
and healing all those oppressed by the devil,
for God was with him.
We are witnesses of all that he did
both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.
They put him to death by hanging him on a tree.
This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible,
not to all the people, but to us,
the witnesses chosen by God in advance,
who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
He commissioned us to preach to the people
and testify that he is the one appointed by God
as judge of the living and the dead.
To him all the prophets bear witness,
that everyone who believes in him
will receive forgiveness of sins through his name."

Coffee with the Principal
Our final coffee with the Principal will be this Thursday, April 20th at 8:15am in the Savio Library. The topics of discussion will be the year ahead for Savio and 10 tips for Catholic School Parents!

Pep Rally and Spirt Wear Day!
Pep rally/spirit wear is this Friday, April 21st. Dismissal for all students will be 3:20pm. Students may wear a savio tshirt, untattered jeans and sneakers as we prepare to celebrate as a community at our spring sports pep rally. Remember that students must wear close-toed and close-heeled shoes. No sweats, shorts, or leggings. A reminder to seniors who have an off block at the end of the day are required to remain at school and attend their off block class for the pep rally.

Attendance Reminder!
This is a friendly reminder to parents and students regarding personal absences. Absence forms must be completed (all signatures including Mr. Gutilla's) and returned to the front office 48 hours before the absence in order for it to be excused. We are starting to see a number of students turning in absence forms either the day of or the day before they are going to be absent from school. The school handbook clearly states that in order for absences to be excused the office must receive the absence form 48 hours before the absence occurs.

High Honor Roll  and Honor Roll for 3rd Quarter!
The names of those students earning the distinction of High Honors  and Honors for the 3rd quarter are included as an attachment in the parent resource section of the bulletin.  Congratulations to all of your achievements!

Course Requests
Students have one week to finish obtaining their course approvals from their teachers. On Friday, April 21st, students will be able to start making course requests via RenWeb. When students log in, they will be able to see the Course Requests option. They should click on that menu option and select their required courses and their elective choices. If they have any questions, they should see Dr. Kohutek in the guidance office.

Volunteer Appreciation Mass
The Volunteer Appreciation Mass is Wednesday, May 10 at 9:50 AM at St. Vincent de Paul.  We will be honoring all the dedicated volunteers who have helped in many ways throughout the year and honoring this year's recipient for the John Bosco Award.  All are welcome to attend and we hope to see you there!

Several Houses worked with Mainspring Schools on Imago Christi day this year. Latin Club is excited to continue Savio's relationship with this wonderful organization and to promote literacy in our Austin community.

12 Easy Tips for Using Social Media Responsibly
Before giving your child access to the Internet, social media, or digital devices you want to ensure that they are prepared. As parents and educators, it's important to teach children that using social media responsibly is one of the first steps to becoming a good digital citizen. Ensuring that students start on off on the right foot digitally can prevent them from making serious social media mistakes that could cost them their dream school or career opportunity.

Volunteer News
Please consider volunteering as a buddy for the Miracle League.  They are looking for buddies for all their special needs children so they can play baseball.

Miracle League:
The Miracle League at Town & Country is a league for special needs children that allows them to play baseball. The Miracle League was started in Conyers, Georgia in 1998. The Miracle League at Town & Country began play in the Spring of 2006, and has had Spring and Fall seasons ever since!

Buddy:
Each player will have at least one "buddy" at each game. This buddy is there to protect the player from balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases and to be a friend on the field. Considering the availability and amount of Buddies, they will be assigned to the same team for the whole season. Buddies will be given a Miracle League shirt for their participation.  They are required to arrive at games thirty minutes before the start of the game and to notify the Miracle League Buddy coordinator at least twenty-four hours prior to the game if they will not be able to make the game.  Buddies start at age 12.  We ask that each Buddy make the Miracle League a priority and comply with our Game Sign Up system.
