Today's Reading
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thus says the LORD:
Share your bread with the hungry,
shelter the oppressed and the homeless;
clothe the naked when you see them,
and do not turn your back on your own.
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,
and your wound shall quickly be healed;
your vindication shall go before you,
and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer,
you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!
If you remove from your midst
oppression, false accusation and malicious speech;
if you bestow your bread on the hungry
and satisfy the afflicted;
then light shall rise for you in the darkness,
and the gloom shall become for you like midday.

CONGRATULATIONS EAGLE SWIMMERS!
The whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts. T.E.A.M. Work! Together Everyone Accomplishes More really does work.
Scoring points or not is secondary to a unified effort. From our most veteran to our most inexperienced swimmer there was a unified effort to stay focused on the team goal to do your best. Every swim mattered. The cheering for team mates mattered. The goal setting cards mattered. Was it perfect? No, but getting pretty close. 54 of 64 swims where better than seeded! That is a staggering 83% better than seeded performance from the team.

Doing your best is ultimately all that matters. Doing you best on a team with the same mindset can produce spectacular results. Congratulations Savio swimmers for coming together to win the regional championship!

Admission News
CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT FOR CURRENT STUDENTS
This year our re-enrollment process is transitioning to a Continuous Enrollment policy. Which means less work and less headaches for our families.
Continuous Enrollment is the policy whereby once a student enrolls at St. Dominic Savio, it is assumed the student will remain at the school through 12th grade unless the family notifies the school of withdrawal or the school determines it is not in the best interest of all involved for the student to return.
Families will no longer have to complete a re-enrollment packet as was the case in the past. This year Savio will assume that your child is returning to Savio for the 2017-2018 school year. If a student will not be returning, the family MUST notify Holly Bologna hbologna@saviochs.org in the Admissions Office in writing no later than Friday, January 20, 2017 to avoid first debit fee.
The total non-refundable enrollment fee for the 2017-2018 school year is $550. As we implement Continuous Enrollment, each family's FACTS account will be debited over a period of two months for the non-refundable enrollment fee for the upcoming school year - the first debit will occur on Feb. 3, 2017 for $275 and the second debit will occur on March 25th for $275.
If your family needs a payment plan for the fees, please contact Lan Nguyen lnguyen@saviochs.org or 512.388-8846 ext. 5003 before January 31, 2017.
Very Important Note: Please take a moment to verify that all family information in Parentsweb is current and accurate. Information on updating your personal information in Parentsweb can be found in the reminders section of the Eagle Weekly.
2017-2018 TUITION ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS OPEN JANUARY 9, 2017
The 2017-2018 tuition assistance application will be available to current families on January 9th. Application and directions are available on the St. Dominic Savio website at https://online.factsmgt.com/aid.
Please note only families that complete the Tuition Assistance Application through FACTS will be considered for an award. The deadline for current families to apply for tuition assistance is February 10, 2017. Even if you were awarded tuition assistance last year you still must reapply for 2017-2018. Every student is reassessed annually based on current qualifications. Tuition Assistance Award notification will be by the end of March. All student accounts must be current and families must have paid the first $275 re- enrollment payment in order to be considered for a new tuition assistance award.
