Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
The LORD said to me: You are my servant, Israel, through whom I show my glory. Now the LORD has spoken who formed me as his servant from the womb, that Jacob may be brought back to him and Israel gathered to him; and I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength! It is too little, the LORD says, for you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.

Special Assemblies on Friday, January 27th
From 9:45 to 10:40 AM, the Savio student body will be attending assemblies focused on fostering better community at St. Dominic Savio. We will also be joined by middle school students from Holy Family. The students will be divided into boys and girls sessions, with the girls hosting a speaker in the Savio gym and the boys going to Holy Family's gym. The girl's session will feature speaker Trish Ottaviano, who runs Sister Soldier outreach assemblies. The focus of her presentation will be on how young women can eliminate relational aggression, which is a common practice in high schools. The Savio boys will host a speaker from Intuitus Counseling Group who will focus on self-control and its impact on peer relationships.
Inclement Weather Information
We wanted to send a timely reminder of our inclement weather policy as we have noticed some cold fronts coming through Texas. St. Dominic Savio follows the decisions of Round Rock Independent School District. School closing or late start information will be posted on the school website a nd sent via the RenWeb Parent Alert system to parent cellphones and emails. Families are encouraged to follow the news and websites of their local school districts in order to monitor the safety of local conditions. Families are permitted to make individual decisions that best assure the safety of their children regarding road conditions.
If the school does go on a two hour delay, then all bus routes will be delayed by two hours as well. Please be aware if that the entire school day is cancelled, all after school activities will be automatically cancelled as well.
Families should make sure that their correct cellphone information is updated in ParentsWeb so that they will receive all parent alerts, including those related to inclement weather.
The names of those students earning the distinction of
High Honors and Honors for the 2nd quarter are included as an attachment in the parent resource section of the bulletin. Congratulations to all of your achievements!

Admission News

CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT FOR CURRENT STUDENTS
This year our re-enrollment process is transitioning to a Continuous Enrollment policy. Which means less work and less headaches for our families.
Continuous Enrollment is the policy whereby once a student enrolls at St. Dominic Savio, it is assumed the student will remain at the school through 12th grade unless the family notifies the school of withdrawal or the school determines it is not in the best interest of all involved for the student to return.
Families will no longer have to complete a re-enrollment packet as was the case in the past. This year Savio will assume that your child is returning to Savio for the 2017-2018 school year. If a student will not be returning, the family MUST notify Holly Bologna hbologna@saviochs.org in the Admissions Office in writing no later than Friday, January 20, 2017 to avoid first debit fee.
The total non-refundable enrollment fee for the 2017-2018 school year is $550. As we implement Continuous Enrollment, each family's FACTS account will be debited over a period of two months for the non-refundable enrollment fee for the upcoming school year - the first debit will occur on Feb. 3, 2017 for $275 and the second debit will occur on March 25th for $275.
If your family needs a payment plan for the fees, please contact Lan Nguyen lnguyen@saviochs.org or 512.388-8846 ext. 5003 before January 31, 2017.
Very Important Note: Please take a moment to verify that all family information in Parentsweb is current and accurate. Information on updating your personal information in Parentsweb can be found in the reminders section of the Eagle Weekly.
2017-2018 TUITION ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS OPEN JANUARY 9, 2017
The 2017-2018 tuition assistance application will be available to current families on January 9th. Application and directions are available on the St. Dominic Savio website at https://online.factsmgt.com/aid.
Please note only families that complete the Tuition Assistance Application through FACTS will be considered for an award. The deadline for current families to apply for tuition assistance is February 10, 2017. Even if you were awarded tuition assistance last year you still must reapply for 2017-2018. Every student is reassessed annually based on current qualifications. Tuition Assistance Award notification will be by the end of March. All student accounts must be current and families must have paid the first $275 re- enrollment payment in order to be considered for a new tuition assistance award.

Congratulations to the Savio girls and boys swim teams for placing first in the inaugural TAPPS District swim meet January 11!
"The swim meet at Round Rock served its purpose as a wake up meet, and wake up the girls and boys teams did a da y later with improved focus and effort and quite a few best time swims. The team's newly created cheer was practiced and then performed at the beginning of the meet and the high energy continued throughout the meet."
"Several swimmers experienced that the power of changing one's mind is the path to changing one's time. The team was so fast that at the conclusion of the meet they got out of the building and on the bus fo rgetting to attend the awards ceremony. Once they learned that they had won the district meet they made up for it with their own awards ceremony on the bus ride back to school. Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we go to work on the regional championship January 25th." - Coach Kjeldsen Click HERE to see pictures!
