Today's Reading
Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time

Before the LORD the whole universe is as a grain from a balance
or a drop of morning dew come down upon the earth.
But you have mercy on all, because you can do all things;
and you overlook people's sins that they may repent.
For you love all things that are
and loathe nothing that you have made;
for what you hated, you would not have fashioned.
And how could a thing remain, unless you willed it;
or be preserved, had it not been called forth by you?
But you spare all things, because they are yours,
O LORD and lover of souls,
for your imperishable spirit is in all things!
Therefore you rebuke offenders little by little,
warn them and remind them of the sins they are committing,
that they may abandon their wickedness and believe in you, O LORD!

Grandparent's Day-Friday, November 18, 2016
Please join us in celebrating our annual Grandparent's Day beginning with Mass at 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul followed by a reception in the Parish Activity Center.  All are welcome to Savio for a campus visit beginning at 1:00pm.  Shuttle service is available.  Invitations have been mailed to all grandparents with current information in RenWeb.  Please stop by the front office for additional invitations.

Build the Nest
Participation is building!  Thank you to the many families that have pledged to this year's Build the Nest appeal.  To date, we are over 60% of the way in reaching our goal of $185,000.  We've done this with only 25% family participation.  Imagine what we can accomplish with 100%!  Please take a moment to consider how you can help increase our participation while supporting the school in this most important effort.  Build the Nest supports our annual operating budget so that tuition can remain affordable for all of our families.  Remember, the amount of the gift is not as important as your participation.  While very large donations are important to a school, it is the multitude of small gifts that provide additional funds to our academic and extracurricular programs, facilities, technology initiatives and so much more. Donations can be made online , through your FACTS account, or by returning your pledge card.  All gifts to the appeal are tax deductible and many companies offer matching gift programs.  For additional information or questions please contact the Development Office.  Thank you for your time and your support of our students and our school.

Hello Savio Parents!

It's that time of year again! The 2016-2017 PLTW Engineering Design and Development (EDD) students are working hard on some very interesting and innovative projects and would love your input!  There are 2 EDD teams with the following projects:

TEAM PupDrop:   EMILY SHOEMAKER and THOMAS SNYDER -- Toy dispensing device for dogs (and cats).

TEAM L'angel:     GIAKHANH HOANG and CHRISTIAN POBLETE  -- Lane departure warning system for vehicles.

They are currently beginning the 'design' phase and are in the process of gathering some basic information from potential consumers. The EDD students would greatly appreciate your input via the surveys listed below. There are 2 surveys, one per each team - each survey will take only a few minutes. Please complete the surveys at your earliest convenience prior to the deadline of 11/1/2016.

TEAM PupDrop:   EMILY SHOEMAKER and THOMAS SNYDER

On behalf of the entire EDD class and myself, thank you so much for taking time to complete these surveys. Every response is appreciated!

Sincerely,

Margarita Flores-Sicich,  PLTW EDD Teacher
