Memorial of Saints John de Brébeuf and Isaac Jogues, Priests, and Companions, Martyrs
Brothers and sisters: You have heard of the stewardship of God's grace that was given to me for your benefit, namely, that the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly earlier. When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to human beings in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy Apostles and prophets by the Spirit, that the Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same Body, and copartners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel.
Of this I became a minister by the gift of God's grace that was granted me in accord with the exercise of his power. To me, the very least of all the holy ones, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for all what is the plan of the mystery hidden from ages past in God who created all things, so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the Church to the principalities and authorities in the heavens. This was according to the eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness of speech and confidence of access through faith in him.

Savio Football Team Makes It To The Playoffs!
The St. Dominic Savio Eagles finished the regular season in style by defeating a gritty Katy St. John XXIII team 13-7 on Senior Night and finishing the regular season with a 5-4 record. At the same time the Eagles solidified their number 3 seed in the TAPPS Independent Division playoffs, and will face the number 2 seeded Village School Vikings (6-3) out of Houston.
TAPPS tournament rules mandate that the playoff games be held at neutral sites, and while TAPPS originally indicated the first playoff games would be held on Saturday, October 29th the Village School (as the higher seed) has opted to play the game on Friday, October 28th. Therefore the game will be played this Friday at Giddings High School starting at 7 pm. The Eagles will be designated as the HOME team.
The winner of Friday night's semi-final will face the winner of the other semi-final between El Paso Cathedral (6-3) and San Antonio T.M.I. (3-5) for the TAPPS Independent Division Championship. The Championship game date, site, and starting time is TBD. Practices this week will start immediately after school and will likely end just before dark (6:30ish). Early morning lifting will be held on TUESDAY morning ONLY! The team will have an early dismissal on Friday at 1:45 in order to eat, meet, pack, load and depart for Giddings at 2:45. We still plan on holding the Thursday night team meal as a "pre-playoff" meal. Details TBA.
