Safety Grand Rounds

Our faithful readers of Safely Speaking know the importance of the study of patient safety.  Although all of us go into healthcare with the sincere desire to help people, adverse events do occur. Our patients can be harmed.  Preventing harm does not come from simply trying harder; we must understand the basics of patient safety to change our practice. This includes improving communication, designing systems cognizant of the human factors that cause errors and developing measurement systems that keep us on track. Safely Speaking is one mechanism to bring this message to the employees and staff at MUSC; starting today, we will offer monthly Grand Rounds to continue this education.  Admission is open to all.
