AHRQ Proposal

Health care clinicians and administrators are all very familiar with HCAHPS, the governmental survey on health care consumer satisfaction. The Agency for Health Care Quality is proposing another "information collection project", for consumers to report patient safety events. Patients and their families are a rich source of information regarding patient safety, thus this tool attempts to tap that resource. The notice goes into some detail on how the data would be collected, but is vague about how it would be reported. AHRQ is accepting comments on this plan until July 13th, 2013.
