Accelerating Efficiency - Land Use in Brazil and Development in Urban Spheres
The New Climate Economy (NCE) has released two new papers. The first, 'Towards Efficient Land Use in Brazil', shows that not only is there significant further potential for simultaneously promoting economic growth and improving ecosystem protection within Brazil's rural landscape but also that substantial improvements are already underway.
The second paper 'Accelerating Low-Carbon Development in the World's Cities' recommends that cities commit to developing and implementing low-carbon urban development strategies by 2020, using where possible the framework of the Compact of Mayors, prioritising policies and investments in public, nonmotorised and low-emission transport, building efficiency, renewable energy and efficient waste management.

Powering Up Skills for a Greener Future
The report, 'Green Skills and Innovation for Inclusive Growth', by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), provides evidence and policy analysis to mainstreaming the greening of employment and skills strategies. This requires strong partnerships between public, private and not-for-profit organisations to maximise innovation and to manage smooth labour market transitions from brown to green energy and employment.
