Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort are getting ready to share some magic with the Central Florida community as part of this year's Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) campaign. Donning wings for the "fairy godmother of all campaigns," Cast Members will donate much-needed dollars to help improve the lives of children and families. "Campaign contributions help ensure that more people in our community have a chance to succeed," said Robert H. Brown, president and CEO of HFUW. VoluntEARS Mark Hispanic Heritage Month
Disney Cast Members are sharing a "nuevo" twist on an old classic in classrooms around Central Florida. As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, they are reading the story of Rubia and the Three Osos to students from kindergarten through third grade. This bilingual version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears combines music, humor and a few Spanish words to entertain kids. Cast Member Matt Gomez recently read to his son's second grade class at Keene's Crossing Elementary School in Orange County. "I take a lot of pride in sharing some of my culture with my son and his classmates," he said.

Ballet slippers and toe shoes were almost as common as sneakers and cleats at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex recently. Walt Disney World Resort donated temporary rehearsal space to the Orlando Ballet after they moved out of the troupe's downtown Orlando studio. The ballerinas and danseurs pirouetted across the parquet floor in preparation for the dance troupe's season opener Tribute. "With only a few weeks before opening day, this was a crucial time for our dancers," said Robert Hill, artistic director for the Orlando Ballet. "We can't thank Disney enough for helping us make sure the show goes on."
