Competitive Edge Series: "Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer"
Business writing can be messy. Wordy reports bogged down with technical language. Memos without a point. Not to mention an endless sequence of PowerPoint presentations that make you want to hit the screen with an ax. It doesn't have to be that way. Based on his best-selling business books, author and writing coach Roy Peter Clark will offer these antidotes to your writing poison:
- How to harness the power of simple storytelling.
- How to explain something so that readers can pass along that knowledge.
- How to tell your company's story in a clear and effective way.
For 35 years, Roy Peter Clark has taught writing at The Poynter Institute, a global leader in journalism education and thought leadership. He is widely considered to be one of America's most influential writing coaches. This event is FREE for FIT Two members; FREE with benefit for FITs One & Three. Thank you to our presenting sponsor Verizon. Online registration for this event will be active starting Monday, September 8, 2014 on the Chamber's website.

Survey: How does transportation impact your business?
The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce is conducting a survey of our member businesses and asking, "How does transportation impact your business?" We know we need better roads and better transit services, but we also need to know our members' needs and how our transportation system should address those needs.
If you are in a leadership role in your company and would like to participate, please follow the link here to access the survey and help us understand the transportation needs of our members and the Tampa Bay business community. For more information on our transportation advocacy or questions about the survey, you can contact Government Relations Coordinator Michael Maurino at mmaurino@tampachamber.com or 813-964-6305.
