Recap: Legislative Wrap-Up
Chamber and Hillsborough delegation members celebrate a successful session

The Chamber hosted eight members of the Hillsborough legislative delegation for our annual Legislative Wrap-Up on May 15. Our legislators took questions from Chamber members about the successes the Chamber and our partners were able to secure for the Tampa Bay region during the 2014 Legislative Session.

The Chamber's Legislative Scorecard reflects that success, counting 17 "wins" for our Legislative Agenda funding and policy priorities. Florida Governor Rick Scott has yet to sign the state budget or consider vetoing any projects. However, it is likely that the majority of our partners' priorities will be approved. Minding Your Business: Kareem J. Spratling
Shareholder, Bryant Miller Olive and Chamber Board Member

"With one of the largest and most robust public finance practices in the Southeastern United States and with our focus on serving the needs of governmental entities, non-profits and their lenders, it is very important to Bryant Miller Olive to know of major capital projects from conception. In light of the financial challenges facing governmental entities and non-profits, that knowledge allows us to share our expertise in helping those projects become a reality through the use of public financing mechanisms.

The Chamber has helped connect us to both public and private decision makers in a collegial and collaborative setting. Those connections and meetings are the foundation upon which solutions to some of this region's most pressing long-term capital needs are built."
