Women of Influence: 2014 Spring Outreach Project
"Making MiraclePlace a Home"
In addition to the array of women-focused events that have already taken place in 2014, the Women of Influence Committee continues to expand its outreach efforts. This Spring has been no exception as the group charges ahead with its mission to inspire and educate women through identification and response to business and community needs in collaboration with community partners. This month, the WOI Committee participated in the "Make MiraclePlace a Home" initiative at Metropolitan Ministries. The women of the committee, along with their families, friends, and businesses, committed to sponsoring 22 out of a total of 48 rooms in the new Emergency Care Center. This project involved raising the money and purchasing the items necessary to furnish a room to host a family who previously had no place to call home. The women of this committee helped move in their items in order to welcome every single family with dignity and respect and contributed special touches to add to their comfort and safety: new sheets, comforters, pillows for their beds, a stuffed animal for each child, and much more. The WOI Committee continues to be an active force in the community, striving to have an impact on the lives of those who need it the most.
